Fotofest International 2020 Biennial: African Cosmologies; Photography, Time, and the Other

Client: Fotofest Inc.
Role: Graphic Designer (HvADesign)
Location: Houston, TX
Biennial Date: Spring 2020

FotoFest's 2020 Biennial titled African Cosmologies: Photography, Time, and the Other, examines the complex relationships between contemporary life in Africa, the African diaspora, and global histories of colonialism, photography, and rights and representation. The identity reflects the concept of “cosmological exploration”—one that defies easy categorization and investigates notions of Africanness beyond traditional geographic and historical lines.

In my role as graphic designer, I developed the initial identity design and assisted in its application across collateral from tee-shirts and tote bags, to promotional mailers and the biennial guide booklet.
