FTM Wholesale (FTMW) is a line extension concept developed at Parsons but inspired by my work at For the Makers as a possible avenue for new sales. Per project guidelines, the logo stemmed from a sculpture of the acronym FTMW that was hand-molded from toothpicks, hot glue, and paint. The form was then sketched from multiple perspectives to determine the right mark. This unconventional approach lead to ideas I would not have otherwise found, including the final design solution of an abstract faceted heart. Elements of gold foil and suede blush were used to elevate the identity for a more corporate audience, while marketing materials built anticipation for the “launch” among the end consumer audience.
